Frequently Asked Questions

1. May we publish one of your articles in our publication?

Yes! We encourage that you publish our articles AS LONG AS you follow these simple instructions:

Please include this information with the article:

Gloria Thomas is the President of Wizard Workforce Development Inc., a Richmond, VA based training and consulting firm. Visit the Wizard Inc. website or call 804.674.6111 for more information.

We also request the courtesy of contacting us to let us know when and where the article will appear. If it cannot be acquired online, please send a copy of the publication to:

Wizard Workforce Development Inc
613 Twin Ridge Lane
Suite 200
Richmond, VA 23235-5268

2. We have our own trainers, but would like them to offer your programs. Can they do this?

Yes! This is an effective way to deliver the programs. We can customize our materials for you to use with any of our programs and even in new employee orientation programs. We include with this licensing a “Transform-the-Trainer” program in which we teach the effective, “empathetic” training approach we use at Wizard to transfer the training skills into real-life practical use by your employees.

3. How does Wizard use and protect my email address?

We use a service called Constant Contact which has an excellent record of strict compliance to stringent privacy guidelines. We have adopted an email privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your information.

If you received a mailing from us, (a) your email address is either listed with us as someone who has expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future ("opt-in"), or (b) you have registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.

We use security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data used by our system. We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone without your advance permission or unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to us is only available to employees managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you emails based on your request for information and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you.

4. How can I stop receiving email from Wizard?

Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or to change your expressed interests. If you wish to do this, simply follow the instructions at the end of every email.

If you have received unwanted, unsolicited email sent via this system or purporting to be sent via this system, please forward a copy of that email with your comments to us at WIRE@wizardinc.com for review. We will put a stop to it.

5. What if I am NOT receiving The Wizard WIRE, even though I signed up for it?

This can happen for several reasons, but usually it is that your SPAM filtering software is not allowing it to be delivered. To resolve this you can sign up with another email address or try entering the WIRE return address gloria@wizardinc.com in your address book or on your “good list.” It also could be that you missed the confirmation message. If you did not confirm your subscription, for your protection, Constant Contact will not send any email to you. If this happened, you can just sign up again through the site and watch carefully for the confirmation message. Just reply to that and you’ll be subscribed.

If you signed up by printing your email address on a signup sheet, it might be that we entered the address incorrectly. Finally, it could just be that your inbox is full. Unfortunately quite a few WIREs are returned from each mailing for that reason.

Meeting and Room Setup Tips

These tips are here to make meeting planning easier for you, however you do NOT need to do all of this for us. We want you to have the best meeting possible, and we are very flexible, can work around any problems and certainly don’t want to put any extra pressure on you!

  • Know where fire exits and extinguishers are.
  • Have backup equipment and a backup plan in case of failure.
  • Tape door latches to prevent them from making noise as people enter and exit.
  • Use semi-circular or chevron seating, if possible.
  • Locate your presentation area as close as possible to the front row.
  • Avoid long, narrow rooms, whenever possible.
  • With no screen, setup to the long side of the room.
  • With a screen, set up to the short side of the room.
  • Place no more than 14 seats in a row.
  • Avoid center aisles. Side aisles work best.
  • Avoid placing chairs next to walls.
  • If possible, widen aisles as they get closer to exits.
  • Check climate controls and know how to use and who to call in case of problems.
  • Locate restrooms, phones, snackbars, elevators, stairs and business center.
  • Check signs to be sure people can easily find the meeting room.
  • Arrange for a good sound system. Thoroughly check it before the program.
  • Use “Reserved” signs on the back rows to force seating in the front first.
  • Provide water for all attendees.
